Cumulative demonstration & the 67% threshold

Proficiency Demonstrated: a behavioral statement is marked Demonstrated if, in at least one observed session, you rated it Exceeds or Meets the standard on the Session Observation Form. Otherwise it is Proficiency Not Yet Demonstrated.

67% per competency: at least two-thirds of the behavioral statements in each competency must be Demonstrated. For MCC that means Competencies 3, 4, and 5 ≥3 of 4, and Competencies 6, 7, 8 ≥2 of 3.

Competency 1 (ethics) is a gate: a "Not observed" ethics qualifier in any session cannot be offset by demonstration in other competencies.

Source of truth: ICF requires that any skill documented here must also be documented in the corresponding Session Observation Form. Load those forms above and the grid fills from them; every suggested call remains yours to confirm or change.

Standards: ICF MCC Minimum Skills Requirements. Required for use with mentor coaching clients from January 1, 2027.
